Mar 30, 2008 Rating Reply: Watercolor & Molding Paste by: Donald You can apply the molding paste to your painting surface,let it dry,takes an hour or so. I paint watercolor with brushes right on top of dried paste and throw salt and spray water before color dries. I also have found you can apply paint to your painting surface apply salt, spray water, etc. Let the paint dry, then apply the paste to your liking. Let the paste dry on top of the watercolor paint{it looks milky and opaque at this point.} The molding paste dries transparent letting the watercolor show through. Glass Bead Gel paste has a nice texture also. Try this paste and watercolor technique on a small scrap sheet of paper first to get an idea how it works. Or do you mix the color in the paste before you put it on the paper? It appears to be sprayed on. Do you apply it in that manner, or with a brush? I'll keep an eye out for this the next time I see it in an animation that your son does (if they are commerical). Then I can tell everyone I know how he did it!
