Toddlers
by: Lynne

Since I am creative and I have five granddaughters I would like to pass that hobby to them, I have let them scribble and paint as soon as they could stand up at a table. In the beginning, it is all about experimentation with the media and there is no thought of producing anything. Adults always seem to be goal oriented but with children I have observed that they have no goal in mind. The simple act of putting paint to paper is enough wonder for them. Sometimes they will fill an entire page with pink paint and are quite pleased with themselves. I would encourage a toddler to use different colored markers. Before you know it, they are making circles and dots and calling it Mommy. From there you can encourage them to make up picture stories using markers or paint. All five of my little girls show tremendous creativity not only with paint but with glue and cardboard also. The freedom to make a mess is a wonderful gift we can give them!

Water coloring mat
by: Anonymous

My granddaughter had lots of fun with a water doodle mat that I got her from Wal-Mart in the toy dept. It comes with a pen you fill with plain water and the mat only shows markings and she draws or scribbles with the special pen (or brush in small bowl of water or handprints by dipping her hands in water first etc.) then when it air dries she can start all over again. Crayola makes some great art products for little ones too. Happy creating:)

TODDLERS
by: MARY ANN

I am not quite sure what you mean by Crystal watercoloring. Can you be more specific? Toddlers don't have much dexterity when it comes to painting or drawing. Theirs is a more abstract talent. So I am not sure what kind of supplies you need. I have a toddler grandson and gave him some washable crayons to use. I did a video of him drawing on an easel and it was totally scribble. This, of course, will lead to more interest in the arts and creation of images. So, if anyone out there knows more about this subject, it would be appreciated.
