Hold it over steam from a tea pot or something. Then place it between 2 slabbs of flat marble and place 30 lbs. of weight on the top slab. Wait 2 day and it will be flat

It works
by: Evelyn

It is working with just a little sprits. Between paper towels & under heavy books.

Another site said to just embrace the warp.

Used sample paper will stretch next time.

flattening a warped painting

If it is in a frame, it must be taken out. Lay it face down and dampen the back with a sponge. NO NEED TO STAPLE IT DOWN. You only need to put some newspapers on it and lay heavy books on top. The paper will absorb the moisture and when it is dry (several hours or over night) it will be flat as a pancake.

I have heard that you can spritz the back of the painting (never the front!) and immediately stretch it by stapling it to a board (gatorboard is good)
