With the birth of the digital camera and digital printing (called Giclee Printing) (pronounced, jee-clay, French for "to spit or spray"), the printing world has changed dramatically. These prints are expensive BUT you only have to print one at a time! If you have another order, just call the printer and tell him which one and what size (they can even change the size!). Ask the price, and then let your customer know what it will cost.

Giclee prints are fade proof and guaranteed. They can be printed on watercolor paper or canvas. And the best part is that you cannot tell one from the original.

They can match the colors (or change them if you like) by using their computers for the alterations.
Very little paper or canvas is wasted, as they can print small ones for color tests, then whatever size you need.

Giclee Printing With the advent of the Internet, there is also one more thing that makes this so convenient. You don't have to get in the car and drive to the printer! If you have a high quality photo, you can simply upload it and have the print shipped to you, or your customer.

I've found a good such service called FinerWorks. You can upload your image and have it printed. Alternatively, you can create an online gallery where visitors can order your prints and have them shipped. The upside is this is convenient for the consumer. The downside is that you have to share a commission with them and you will need to promote this site yourself (e.g. you'll need to drive traffic to it).
