Ginny,
You did a great job for your 7th painting! One suggestion: Study up on reflected light. There is always a warm light in the shadows under the eaves and porch of a house. You may have to look hard sometimes to see it, but an artist can accentuate the color, thereby making the painting come alive with color. Remember this tip:
Cast shadows are cool in temperature
Others, like ceilings of porches, the underside of eaves, etc. are warm.
So you can paint a transparent warm color in these areas, then add the cool color to the cast shadow as it is cast down the vertical wall of the house. Let the colors blend together. I think you will find that your paintings will glow.
