L'Oignons

L'Oignons

Size: 5" x 7" on textured Claybord®

The result on the textured surface is often a softer look, whereas the smooth surface works best when painting shiny objects because of the high contrast that can be accomplished

LES OIGNONS

Since I painted this, Ampersand has changed the names of its products. This "formerly" Claybord, is now called Aquabord, which has a texture and responds much like watercolor paper. Claybord is VERY smooth and is VERY difficult to paint on with watercolor, though I have still tried small paintings on it. It is really best for acrylic or oil.

I love the lost soft edge of the onions often still life tends to look like it is stuck on and this has beautiful tones. www.shirleycharlton.com wish you could come and teach with me. Please can you explain how you paint on Claybord?
