Painting animal portraits

by Barbara Cannon
(Orlando, Fl)

I have painted in watercolors for more than five years then gave it up for about the past three or more years. Am trying to get back into it. Animal portraits was my easiest subject back then, but now I am having trouble getting it right.

Really, it would be up to the craftsman what medium to utilize. I incline toward acrylics myself. A few craftsmen watercolors. Some oil paint. Watercolors and acrylics dry speedier. Oils take around 6 months to a year to totally dry. Pick the medium you lean toward and take the plunge.
