The emperor has no clothes!
by: Lynne

I think that the artist is extremely talented and should be given his due for that. I too feel that "pots" doesn't evoke much emotion as compared to his other work submitted which at least invited the viewer to look more closely. I personally prefer paintings that are not photographic in character and feel that the emotion evoked by a painting is far, far more important than the excellence of the technique. However, I think that Mr. Poxon has succeeded in stirring some lively debate so who is to say that his work has no merit! One last comment and that is that I can't find his focal point at all. Since you commented on it, please, can you tell me where is it Mary Ann?

Opinion
by: Kris

I guess we're all entitled to our opinion. The last someone that felt they needed to remain anonymous because of that opinion. Sad. I don't feel that art can be judged. It just is. And it all has quality whether you like the subject matter or not.

Ugly Pots
by: Anonymous

I certainly would not want this hanging on my walls. While I believe you can find beauty in anything, this is really ugly. Better subject matter and colors. Next - a series of garbage cans.

Pots
by: Mary Ann

I am really impressed with your painting style. You seem to know that dark shadows can really bring a painting to life and make the viewer focus on the focal point. Congratulations! And thank you for adding such beauty to my "tips" site.
