Thanks again for your images and explanation of your techniques. I am sure you will do well in the art festival. I agree that using a masking fluid does not always give the best results, as you almost always need to go back in and correct the painting. Sometimes it is just best to paint your washes, then do some "negative" painting around the areas that you wanted to keep white. If you work on a forgiving surface, like watercolor canvas, textured Claybord, Rtistx Board, Strathmore 500 Series Board and even Bockingford paper, you will find that lifting out color is very easy to do. On those surfaces the masking is not necessary. Let me know if you try one of them.
