Spring Irises

I painted this from a photograph I took last Spring. I kept Mary Ann's suggestions in mind and I am much happier with the result.

Lynne, this is better but now you need yto concentrate on the values in the painting. Consider this formula: 1/3. Light to 2/3 dark , or visa versa. This painting is all light to medium in value. The darkest colors should be in the leaves, behind them, inbetween them, etc. You can also cast shadows on the leaves where one may cross over the other. Good luck, and let me know how it works out.
