The Bathing Beauty

This is painted from a photo of one of my granddaughters. I set her in the water rather than on the lawn and changed some colors to make the picture more interesting. I think I caught her cheeky smile. Any constructive comments would be appreciated.

I guess that is what happens when you take a photograph and paint what you see rather than making sense of the composition. Thanks so much for all your ideas. You are so right!

I love it! Constructive criticism: the shadows under her tummy and her arm should have more of the color of the water (reflected light)....and your water is more green than blue. And if the umbrella is doing its job, there should be a shadow on the top part of her body at least. Maybe only a part of her legs would be in the sunshine.
