Nov 11, 2009 Rating COTTAGE by: MARY ANN This painting could be greatly improved if the design were not so centered. Always place your focal point (the cottage in this case) just a bit above or below center, and a bit to the right or left of center. If this is on paper, and you have matted it, try re-matting to exclude the dark pine on the left of the page. It will make a huge difference.
