Keep your brushes wet too Lynn
by: Barbara Anthony

Wanted to also clarify that at the end of finishing that painting, I did add a few more or less muted colors-black greens (Alizarin Crim. with Phalo Green to make black grees),etc. Got to clear this up before I foget where I LEFT my brushes. Thanks for your return comment.

Old saying
by: Lynne

I guess you gave truth to the old saying: Paint what you see and not what you know! I am "late to painting" also so I know what struggles we oldies have BUT we bring decades of wisdom and experience to our art. Keep your brushes wet! LOL

Lynn, thank you
by: Barbara Anthony

Thank you so much Lynn, for your kind comments. You just can't know what that meant to me at this time in my life-it is a real spirit boost. I did the trees first in light grays, then grandually deepened as I went along, avoiding greens (which my mind said "pines are dark green". I had to open my right side of the brain to allow the "truth" of what the pines would be in a blizzard. It took a few years for that to happen!!!

waiting
by: Mary Ann

I love this piece. It makes me shiver! And so poignant with the buffalo waiting for the Great Spirit. That is just what it looks like when the snows come down hard (even in Ohio).
