Watercolor on Yupo

by Mary Ann Boysen

Watercolor on Yupo

Watercolor on Yupo

These are abstract forms painted in watercolor on Yupo, an inert plastic surface that many watercolorists are using now.

There are many ways to create shapes on Yupo, and these were done by first laying down the red and black colors on the surface, then rolling up another sheet of Yupo, and just pulling and rolling it across the page.

I wouldn't say that this is a good painting. These are just the happenings when you play around with it.

Abstracts that will sell.
by: Anonymous

This is a perfect example of an abstract that is well planned out in the mind before color hits the painting surface. Colors blend and pretty much do their on thing but this abstract has nice form and interesting shapes which draw attention. I am still learning about abstract art. My tips for good abstract design are planning, create nice textures, have good balance, have interesting shapes, use a limited palette{2 or 3 colors that compliment each other}and when we start getting better results try to say something with your work.
