Watercolor, Yupo and more Yupo

by Mary Ann Boysen
(Chagrin Falls, OH)

Watercolor Yupo and Yupo

Watercolor Yupo and Yupo

On this piece of Yupo, I blotted the colors with another piece of Yupo. This pulled at the paint, and left the shapes that reminded me of coral.

I painted the blue areas into the painting with a brush. Many artists are very good at painting realistic scenes on Yupo. I don't count myself as one of them.

There are many fine abstract painters in watermedia. They use textural pigments to liven up their brilliant designs. I am always amazed at their creativity, and hope that some of you out there, will upload your images and techniques to show the world what else can be done in this versatile medium.
