Hi Mary Ann: I have painted watercolor for 20 years, & have begun to experiment with acrylics. I would love to hear your impressions as you proceed. I tried the new open acrylics for the painting attached. Thanks, June

Watercolors & Acrylics
by: Mary Ann

Nice painting! I am struggling with the acrylics, and like I told another person, I realized that I cannot use acrylics in an aqueous approach on canvas. It just flows off the page! I will, however, continue to work on my painting, determined to finish. I have already gessoed over the first attempt and started over. Maybe I need some lessons! I am reading a book about it and was anxious to get going, but should have done this on paper instead. Eventually I will get around to painting in the heavier pigment method. I just had something in mind that I wanted to try. If I ever finish this thing, I will post it on this site, and explain the struggles that I went through. Keep posted.

Of course, in the midst of all this I still teach watercolor weekly and create new pages for this site in watercolor. I hope I don't get too confused.
